1 month ago we started gymnastics in gym. We needed mats, some of us were in groups. Watch the video to learn the names of the moves.

The students at IREC are having a blast in the gym this week. They are working hard on their balance and flexibility as they travel through the Mission Impossible obstacle course. The mission is to move through carefully, so that you do not get sent back to start again by one of the watchful snipers.

Hear hear listen up kids to a farm safety activity!
We learned how a farm can damage your ears.  If you are on a  tractor all  day  you might  need  head phones ,  ear plugs and much more. Well not all on at the same time.We all have little hairs that  are in our cochleas that vibrate with sound. You want to probity some things. Did you know that cows can hurt your ears. If you are near a grainary always wear some thing to protect your ears. Anything can hurt your ear's on a farm so you need to protect your ears . Did you know that the little hairs can go away and they can never grow back ? It is scary that you will not be able to hear if all those are gone. Here is a short video of the farm safety .

Hi my name is Aidan. We had Houston and Sephira for our m.c's for last week's assembly. We had the curtain down so it was very small. It was very exiting. Our main event was soccer. 2J did a exiting Gangnam style.

We were fortunate enough to receive a Flat Stanley from Mrs. McVannel's Grade 2/3 class in Waterloo, Ontario. We took Flat Stanley around our school and then wrote individual letters back to the Grade 2/3 class.  We hope the students enjoy their letters.

Mrs. McVannel's Grade 2/3 class, will you please tell us about your class in the comments section. My Grade 3s are looking forward to learning a little more about you and your school.

Here is what we know at the beginning of our unit:    (you may

Have you ever spoken with a doctor, auto mechanic, or computer support person that has given you advice or directions in a language that was difficult to understand?  This is comparable to reading a book that is too difficult.  For readers to have high success in reading, they must spend time reading material they can read with 99 to 100 percent accuracy.  We encourage students to select books that are a good fit so that they are successful and enjoy reading.  Working on the strategy of reading appropriate level texts that are a good fit will help your child read smoothly,
engaging in texts they can read without difficulty.
How can you help your child with this strategy at home?
                    1. When your child goes to read a text, have him or her use the IPick

method to explain why that specific text was chosen.
                    2. Help your child recognize when a text is too difficult.  They are

                    taught to ask:
                           a) Are there two or more words on a page that I don·t know?
                           b) Is this book hard to understand?
                           c) When I read it does it sound choppy and slow?

Thank you for your continued support at home!

Please go to your child's blog site to see them reading and explaining a good fit book for them.
