In 3SB we have been learning about how to describe rocks.  We have discussed rock colour, texture (how it feels), luster (how shiny it is - or how much light it reflects) and hardness.  To check the hardness of a rock, we tested to see if we could scratch it with our fingernails, a penny or a metal nail.  Can you describe a rock that you have?

My favorite part was when we look to see if our rocks had lustre!
I like Ms.Badall rock because it is shiny! Science is fun!

One of my rocks is very shiny. It feels like little peices of shine is coming of. I found it at the lake It is very hard. my rock is black and white.

One of my rocks is red,peach,black,white and yellow . It look like
a square with bumps. It feels like it 's smooth and has bumps.
I found it outside.

I love rocks they are so cool and pretty. Like amethysts. Those are pretty pretty. And I like how they have lots of minerals in them. Minerals are pretty to.

It is pink and grey.
It feels waxy.
I found it at the park.
I can scratch it with my nail.

One of my rocks is very smooth. And it is black with some orange spots. And it's shape is kind of a square. And it's very similar to wood. My rock is very hard I could've scratched it.

one of my rocks are Brownishred.

it looks like a pees of brick.

My rock feels like sand paper.

I found it on the street by the school.

It is as Hard as a brick.

One of my rocks look like a sphere.It feels like hard skin.I found it in my back yard.I cant scrach it with my nail.my rocks lesture is dull.
